Too old to run, i couldn't even lift your jacket to put it in the back of the car mate lol It's amazing how many spuds you can get in a dpm camo jacket !! As for the mad farmer with the baseball bat, i'd hate to think what he would have done if we were poaching on his land!! still we had the last laugh when delta caught the rabbit from under his nose when we were walking back to the car. It's the first time you've been lamping when you went home with a full cassarole !! Grounds shocking here at the moment mate, will give you a bell when it's better and the moons back down. 1 Quote Link to post

chartpolski 24,293
What about the night we were halfway, walking, to where we were going to lamp, and the heavens opened !! I said "well. i'm soaked to the skin, it cant go any father " ! We carried on and caught a few rabbits and on the way back a car full of pikeys stopped for a ruck ? Shit. it seems like a laugh now. probably was at the time as well !! It's all about getting out with the dogs, (and the vodka and beer afterwards !! ). Cheers. 3 Quote Link to post

Those p***y's well what can i say not a single word was exchanged just a few stares!! They probably thought what a sad pair of tw*ts being out in that weather for a few rabbits lol. We certainly caught and shot some stuff during that week, think i had 9 hours sleep that week!!! 1 Quote Link to post

Guest bezza
In my younger days i lived in a farm cottage. Free rent for part time work. Part of my wage was a few bags of tatties and the occasional bag of carrots and turnips. For some reason that escapes me now i used to collect my veg in the middle of the night. One morning the farmer came to see me very early. The dairyman was ill and he wanted me to take over. The night before I had claimed my free veg but to my dismay i had left evidence of my nocturnal activities in very defined dew lines in the grass leading to the vegetable fields. He looked at me and i looked at him. He never said a word and neither did I. But we both smiled at each other. 3 Quote Link to post
chartpolski 24,293
I was down Notts way one time for a lamping match, (Mally was judging), and the host was a bit embarrassed about the lack of quarry, until we saw a Transit van full of Pikeys driving the lads permission !! It didn't spoil the night to much, but we could have done without it ! Any way, I think we stayed 2 or 3 nights and had some fun !! Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post
bird 9,969
just turned 60 1.8.52, was lamping wed night 5 hours, and carrying a good weight of game as well. I think hunting day+night keeps you fit, gets you out of the house, and nice to have a dog that you can do somthing with it. It does get harder as you get older takes that bit longer to get over a hard night, or full day out , pity you carnt turn the clock back 6 Quote Link to post
