Zeiss Duralyt for a .22lr ?

Been offered a second hand Zeiss Duralyt 3-12 x 50 at a very good price. I need a new scope for my CZ .22lr but is this too much scope for the job ?

in my eyes you can under scope a rifle, but i don't see how you could over scope it.

only jealous people will say its too much.

Thanks for your replies. I have a BSA sweet 22 on my rifle at the moment which is ok until the light starts to go so I was hoping I could improve on the situation .
