Hi Craig.

I was out with Davy (T63) on my permission about three years back and he had a monocular night vision spotting scope from Netto or Aldi or some utterly unexpected store. And it wasn't expensive he told me. He used it to make a quick scan, spotted a rabbit in the field and brought his lamp into play on his rifle. Beamed on the rabbit Got the kill down very quick and no fussing. Lamp off! Very impressive, nice, clean performance all round.

Best regards mate.

Simon

That`ll be the bresser mate . Yes an ok bit of kit , but im thinking more of a Gen2 spotter . Ive just found a nice little addition to the MFR for night shooting , so im needing a spotter . The thing is people think of night vision as a magic cloak , but its not , you still need your basic field craft or the `basics` are against you . Its ok going into a field with a good NV rig then sweeping with a white light , but you`ll get no where ...............

No you get flat on your face as in the dark you lose track of where all the damned holes in the tracks are!

As usual a feckin stupid answer , the usual standard of drivel that people dont really want to hear .

Im asking about NV spotters so can shoot through the night , not lying in a field in the dark !!

The people who have been shooting for 3 days might think of you as the font of knowledge , where as i see straight through you .

Dont answer my posts again , as i tend to make a point of not answering yours .

Hi Craig,

I know that in October the Nite Site spotter is going to different people to test and review.

After speaking to Dave and Phil at NS they were getting a good 300 yards using the prototype when in Wales on holiday.

I haven't seen it yet myself but from what they told me on the phone It's going to be a cracker.

We will hopefully be testing it and reviewing it in our own way on the channel some time soon in the future after the other bigger channels have reviewed it.

Thanks Si . Be interested to see what results you get mate . I'm looking for something to go with an N550 , so obviously I won't use any 'light' other than IR . As it will be purely for spotting I'm not that fussed about illumination as I've a couple of IR's I can use anyway. I've read a few things about digi spotters , but as yet have not seen anything . Cheers buddy , Craig .

I just use the N550 Craig Mate :),

Don't have a Doubler fitted and just use the standard 4.5x mag, Better field of View and good for spotting,

And for the range that mine is zeroed to 55 yards is good enough for air gun ranges at night.

Also i just have the pulsar 940 nm ir flash light on So as not to spook the Quarry.

I have got a Aldi NV Special like Davy but don't use it as it's more Gumf to carry i tend to travel light at night

on Forays any way.

Villa, I also thought about the bresser one but I'm unsure on the clarity . If I was going gen 1 ide use an exelon .

Cheers guys , its interesting to see what others are doin .

hi buster was thinking of getting one my self but dont no mutch about them and you,r right about the white light when you sweep the fields once is ok but a few times then they run but the new lamp iv got has a red beem(not a filter) and its not that bad but you must look through your scopes to see them at a long distance iv had some good bags with this lamp its a ultra fire i use it as a lamp and a spotter  but kills your arms having to keep lifting your rifle up all the time  atvbmac
