prices are

£60 for the forest and field withcanvas micarta and kydex (neck or belt carry)

£75 for the forest and field with the ivory corian (cream handle) and leather sheath

£75 for the fieldcrafter with with the ivory corian (cream handle) and leather sheath

£75 for the fieldcrafter with with the black linen micarta and multipal brass pins and leather sheath this one has a flat grind not sabre , it has a micro beval , so sould be eisier to sharpen with limeted equipment .

 

id love to do them cheaper guys but that is as cheap as they can be done .

if you still want them can you pm me with the the info that best dicribes the one you want , maybe copy and paste the discription .

 

 

it need to be said that im trying to find the right finnish , sheath grind etc for the two patterns , the forest and field is wicked sharp with that grind(saber) and a scandi grind suits it well to , the fieldcrafter seems to like every grind i can do on it , there is only the hollow grind (think cut throat razor) left to try on it . id say that was a pretty good start witht he blanks i have ! ??

this does keep evolving and with new equipment landing all the time the options are getting pretty wide .

new year i hope to be able to offer engraving to special order (more equipment)

and in a few years i will only offer my own damascus knives and that will be it , so this lot wont allways be available i, unless they become so popular that id be a fool to stop making them .

two fieldcrafters sold !!

the smaller pair still open i think but steve wanted bids on the kydex one !!

the quality of these hand made knifes sell ther selvs matt whuld never have a none hand made knife again damascus all the way for me doubt i will ever need to buy again

just a thought..but it would be nice if the blade lengths were stated ..just for peace of mind like coz some police are arseholes about these things..i know they are fixed blades(not lock blades) but just a thought. atb stabba...oh nearly forgot..stunning blades pal :thumbs:

iv done it in the past but it never seemed to matter , when i first sold the blanks that these are made of the lengths widths etc where stated .

to be honest lads iv about had enough of it , nothing ever seems to improve its allway "when i get this it will be better" grinders, forges, website ,makers marks list goes on and im not making any money so cant afford to do it .

so yeah im gonna finnish the commission i have on the bench and have a long think if this is what i want to do .

there certainly going to start costing what it cost me to make + my skilled time .

i get some weird pms of people telling me that they can better quality from paki damascus knives etc etc .

i get offended by it and i think its time to face facts , iv run my self ragged and the mrs trying to get it right , cheap, quality, fast affordable , attractive you name it , but there like weekly trends and nothing that seems to work for more than a few days .

beleave it or not 15 months back i was fetching more money for knives than i m making now ?????

i know everyone going to say advertise else where etc go to shows get a website , well bottom line is i cant afford to !!

if i was a proper busines id be bust !!

so as i say finnish this lot and have a break and a think on it , i know my life style is shit and we are constantly broke but working 13 hour days 6 days a week minimum !

sorry lads but i can no longer offer 3rd world prices and im not enjoying it anymore .

iv done my bit you all got some nice stuff and good prices iv enjoyed it and learned loads .

i know iv said all this before but i was addicted to makeing them and it was great you guys received then so well .

      This is one my son has had on the go for a while. The wrought iron is a piece i pulled out of a skip, just thought it was mild steel rod, only realized when it was being forged into a pair of tongs. The tongs got abandoned and the wrought iron put to a better use. The blade is leaf spring from a series 2 landy.

      Blade: Spring steel with satin finish and domed mirror polished spine. Length five and a half inches (145mm), width one and a half inches (38mm), thickness 3/16 (5mm).
      Handle: Utile handle scales on wrought iron frame with copper pins. Wrought iron fittings with copper spacers. Take down construction.

      Kiridashi Knife

      Recently finished this knife. I made it for a "knife in the hat" draw over on EM forum. 
      The style is Kiridashi so ground on one side only with the other flat like a chisel. Ideal for cutting leather or anything else where you would run the blade along a straight edge.

      Hand forged chain Damascus knife

      This blade is made from motorbike chain hand forged on to a leaf spring core. I have experimented a few times with chain Damascus but this is the cleanest weld yet, not perfect but it has character. Very hard to eliminate all the voids in the chain beating it by hand...even though i spent probably half a day hammering away on it.... I will make a press one day.
      I had a smaller knife in mind when i started out but wanted to maximize the lump of rough forged "Damascus" I ended up with so it determined the size & shape of the final blank.
      The blade is 7.5 inches and handle  approx 4.5 so overall something like a 12" Knife.
      Handle is Scottish red stag and the bolster/ pommel are stacked brass & copper soldered together.

      Custom Built MDF Wheel Sharpener

      Heard a while back mention of sharpening with MDF wheels but never really paid much attention. I recently thought i would give it a go and turned up a quick MDF wheel on the face-plate of my wood-working lathe. I clamped a makeshift guide to the back of the lathe and worked with the wheel turning away from me. I was blown away by the results! Super sharp paper slicey edge straight off the wheel.
       
      Decided a dedicated MDF wheel sharpener was high on the list of must haves so started gathering bits. I was lucky enough to pick up an old 8" Makita bench grinder on ebay for £25. Everything else is made from scrap bits so that was all the outlay for the build.
       
      I took the guards off the grinder, swapped the switch and the power cable around so the on/off switch is effectively now on the back so the grinder can be operated with the wheels running away from you.
       
      The knife clamp is made from an old door hinge welded to a bit of rod off of some other power tool, hence the nice grippy knob on the end. A 6mm hex bolt through the hinge clamps the knife in place. A cutting of hex bar slides up and down to alter the angle of grind and locks in place with another allan bolt.
       
      Once set up to the desired angle the blade can be sharpened on both sides and both wheels quickly without altering anything.
       
      The MDF wheels are loaded with grey polishing compound and jewelers rouge respectively.
