pianoman 3,587
Well at least it hits a shed door Mike! I trust you will get a better result to report with. Never seen or heard of this Webley rifle before. Best regards. Simon Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
It is a rebadged Puma Innova (as we all know the Puma was the Chinese clone of the Sharp). From what I can tell it has a new stock design (bigger than the Innova), it is also noticeably heavier than the Innova. Finish is not the best in the world, but it is not that bad, reliably agricultural I would term it. The Hatsan 60 feels better (I do prefer real wood rather than synthetic stocks), the trigger feels easy enough, not too heavy, but not as clean as a 60S and certainly nothing on the Rekord unit, but certainly better than the XS19 unit! Going to do a pump to power test, starting at 4 pumps, working up to the full 8 pumps (supposed to be 10 foot pound at 8 pumps). Going to have to fit a silencer to test it though! milegajo 595
http://www.solware.co.uk/air-pistol-air-rifle/Webley-Rebel-UK-Spec-Pump-Up-Air-Rifle.shtml £119 is what they're asking. Knowing a Mole's ability to sniff out a bargain I'm guessing you shaved a few off that. 10 ftlbs is sufficient, and comfortably within limits, though I'd plump for .177 personally. An FAC version at 14ftlbs is an interesting option. One tenth of the price of an FX independence. 3 year warranty! I'd have that voided rather quickly as I ripped it open. I would use it as a project platform to smooth out and fettle. £119!!! I cannot comprehend how that can cover materials, labour (even child labour!), shipping and the profits that need to be creamed off. Incredible (if a bit ethically concerning). That said, I too have a new purchase to unveil. But all in good time. Keep us posted Mole, since you gave me the heads up on this I've been most intrigued. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Further investigation reveals it is running at roughly 7,3 foot pound energy, now the interesting part is they sell a lower powered version as well, so this gun is either 2.5 foot pound under or 2 foot pound over power (7.5 joule is 5.53 fpe). Tried a pull through, not much changed, going to fire a few more through it later, perhaps just do 4 pumps and fire to get the mechanism loosened up, see if that has an effect! If not she goes back and hopefully I will get one that does do round about the 10 foot pound! Quote Link to post
milegajo 595
Difficult to say isn't it. I guess if you paid for a 10 ft/lb jobber, you darn well expect a 10 ftlb jobber! Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Further to last set of photos taken, please find a set of comparison photos between old and new... Front end! Probe end of action! Loading side. Barrel and pump. The pair... Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Oh and grouping appears good as well. This is such a copy that it even has the thin plastic shroud over the barrel! Quote Link to post
