scothunter 12,609
Like I said earlier, we can just wait to see what his wife would like and do something then. Or ive seen in other things you just pay it straight into a bank, but I don't know if you need to be a registered charity do that.

gnasher16 30,470
Its a nice thought and naturally everyone means well.........but never mind daft internet competitions does anyone know the man well enough to be in contact with his family ?........ First thing id be wanting to do for a friend is make sure his family are taken care of and not wanting for anything............is there no way we could just have his address even if requested by pm ?......personally id be happy just sending a plain brown envelope to his wife and son they neednt know who its from or where its come from just so long as the contents make their lives a touch easier for a while. Is that possible or not ?

fireman 10,996
I can see where your coming from Gnasher, humble donations need no flag waving but i also would like to think his family could relate to this forum and the way he was felt of on here as a good thing and take pride and strength from it,i know i'd be a touch prouder if i knew my old man was thought of by strangers like craigyboy was and folks like him are few and far between these days.Maybe a poll or something could be put up to see what we all think is best?. stabba 10,745
For whats its worth..im of the opinion Craig's immediate family would benefit more if we all sent a donation(cash) direct to them. Instead of being annonymous just put "care of a member of THL" i reckon the family will then get the message of how well thought of he was on here. Im betting Craig would sooner his family be taken care of than a memorial on here, But that said..some kind of memorial on here would be a fitting tribute to the fella..atb stabba

scothunter 12,609
I'm quite sure craigy has made sure his family is taken care of. Still no harm in us having a whip round for his wife And kids. She can decide whether to keep it, take the kids on holiday or give it to some cause. Naming the bird section after him on here. Would be a nice gesture, but that's not for us to decide.
