Had a few hours out with Kents answer to Fred Carter Mr "Maris Piper" using the NV thingy on "old painless" shot 21 in no time at all and then called it a night, all were nice rabbits clean head shot. :snack:

Do you think you could elaborate slightly on "The night thingy" please. :hmm:B)

Sorry MT its a Cobra Merlin on the back of a AGS Swat and a IR filter on a nightsearcher here's a better picture of "Old Painless" wearing some NV. I am changing the lamp to a scope mounted lightforce lance for some extra range it should get me 70 yards +

Thanks for that Magwich, food for thought, i have been picking mole catchers brain on this subject recently as i think it is high time i got on and bought NV it is just what set up is best, not really looking for anything further than 100 yds max, clarity out to say 75 yds more important. :hmm:

At the moment ive a 50 yard range and can head shoot bunnies all night long, we shoot an orchard which is very easy shooting no skill involved here just drive up the end of the aisles popping away, ive heard the digital add ons are good but they are hard to get hold of at the mo and a bit out of my price range.

the cobra merlin was £300 and i already had the nightsearcher lamp so i only had to buy the IR filter which was £30, the scope mounted lightforce which i am gonna use was £60 off ebay and i am gonna use a red filter with two layers of blue film from a craft shop has a IR filter because the proper lightforce IR filters are very very dear , its a poor man's NV set-up but it gives me some good results.hope that helps mate :thumbs-up:
