BS40liam 203
Got gifted a ferret last night, and the old boy is and was saying he's kept and bred ferret most of his life...anyhow he gave me a kit from the begining of this year stock ready to stary to work now but he said she was a greyhound ferret :s I've looked on the search bar and couldn't find anything. She looks just like a normal albino ferret to me only difference with her and the one I alrady have is she's a lot leaner and a slightly different shaped head also stands with a really arched back! Can someone shed some light on if the old boys just talking utter tosh or is this an actual specific 'type' of ferret? Quote Link to post

sam007 34
There is no such animal as a"greyhound ferret" you could ask a hundred ferreters and most would come up with different answers It comes down to different inturpretations of what is a so called Greyhound Some say long and lean others say short with a pointy face some say that it must be albino others that it can be any type others say it will have arched back and so on and so on. The truth is that there is no definitive breed or type of ferret classed as a greyhound ferret it all depends on a persons preference Sam 1 Quote Link to post
BS40liam 203
Well that's what I thought, a ferret is a ferret but the old boy was so adamant that it was a greyhoud ferret. Rake aboot 4,935
Nope It`ll be just a normal ferret mate,, similar to all the EU poleys that don`t exist either. Just be happy with the wee thing and get it working, never mind labels for it ATB 1 Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
Its a body type, that is gained from breeding like to like, mostly albino and seemed to be what a ferret was before the pet trade and various other idiots got involved. 1 Quote Link to post
Carraghs Gem 1,675
The 3 new polecat hobs I got recently are of a similar body type to greyhounds... If they work half as well as they look thats all that matters Quote Link to post
