Recommended Posts

Hi lads, I've put this in me other thread but I've got a sick pup at vets with possible parvo, what's the chances of my 2 yr old am bull that is overdue his booster by 5 months getting it? A know most say the boosters are a con but bit worried, cheers

When Parvo first started to appear round here, late 70's, early 80's, I had 3 dogs. Two adults, (a Collie x and a Saluki x), and an 8 month pup, (Deerhound x), in the same kennels. The pup caught Parvo and died, even with extensive vet treatment. The other dogs were fine. All of them had been innoculated. I burnt all the bedding and cleaned the kennels out with Jeyes Fluid. I think it's just luck if your other dogs get it or not.

Hope all works out well for you and your dogs !

Cheers.

feel really sorry for you mate. i lost two pups a few years ago and nearly lost my old girl. the vets had her in for days in the end they said she wasn't responding to the treament. i had to take a week off work and nurse her myself. not an easy job i tell you .she would only eat fish shop sausages. cost me a fortune but worth every penny.

Tbh I think its lookin less like parvo with the kidney failure etc, waitin to here results of the x-ray

hope it goes ok and its not parvo, ive heard that it can stay in the ground where( kennel yard+ grass) you live for (6 months) .With the dog with kidney prob, even if it pulls through, it might not ever run proper again, regards hard long nights work, might be ok as a pet though.!

you cant be sure it wont ever make a full recovery ..........................................and try not to think it wont as plenty of dogs get written off and passed on and some need more time than others.................................took my bitch a year to get over injury .................probably due to my patience , every time i thought she was ready i could see she wasnt ready and had to wait months for getting her back on track.............this season will tell.

time is a great healer and dont give up on your mutt.........as its a small price to pay for a life time of wok from your dog...........good luck

Could be Lepto from Rats piss.

Was the dogs eyes and belly yellowing ?

Was it off its eating but taking copious amounts of water ?

Lethargic ?

And about 2 days after taking ill pissing and shitting blood ?

If so mate pts , not many pull through and if it is Lepto even with treatment every time it pisses ect for approx 12 mths after recovery it could still be a carrier and pass it on to other animals.

No mate he ate his last meal bowt 8ish then went to bed at 11, had his first runny shit at bowt half 3 then went down hill frm there, never shit any blood just looked like water
