AndyKelly 251
off out with my mate yesterday at 7am off to our usual haunt . decided to go down to the farmhouse and clear a few burrows. put my ferret down and one of his behind it and then the fur started to fly.........not off the rabbits of the bleeding ferrets!. they didnt seem to like each other and had a right go so once we had untangled them decided it was better to work them seperatly. put the collar on fred and decided to see what all the ho ha was about with locators. fair enough it was showing 16ft but he was alot further down than that looking like a muppet waving the box everywhere and nothing. got him out and rabbits infont of him and decided to plod on the old fashioned way lol. a little bit of grass frost yesterday morning seemed to help us in our quest and by 2 we had a fair bag of 22 rabbits. then my mate pipes up that he knew the manager of a caravan site so we decided to pack up and go have a look. drove into a riverside camp and omg there was rabbits everywhere. the park is shutting down soon and the manager was more than happy to give us permission to ferret over the winter months. he then proceeded to tell us he owns another three sites in the immediate area which we are more then welcome to go and do. then he also told us that the railway track and both banks of the river that run alongside the camp are his too as they have all the fishing rights to it. i died and went to heaven on the spot!!!!!!!! to top the lot off he then told us to go to the farm on the hillside and tell the farmer he had been speaking to him and ask there. it killed me walking up the bank but when i got there i was dumbfounded. as big wooded area and 2,000 acres to boot. i no days like this dont happen very often ( once and a lifetime) but if there was ever a reason to get out of bed yesterday sure is the one that goes on the top of my list Quote Link to post
