ferretville 69
Well done lads and fair play to the dogs to . Me mate had a deerhound cross that took 72 rabbits 1 nite near bardon mill over hexham way and that was some dog . He never bragged about it or said it was the best , just got out there and did what the dog loved doing best . Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
fair enough moscow but to break the boredom we did try a couple of other types of hunting before we went on the bunnies and that was an eye opener STD's spring to mind.. Quote Link to post
D Lloyd 2,790
Surely it has always been a numbers game? It's great to catch ten hard rabbits, but it's nicer to catch twenty. I don't believe ANYONE who says that they would not like to see their dog catch a van full of bunnys. At the end of the day, we all run dogs to watch them work, and the more rabbits there are and the more they catch, the more you get to see them work, so happy days. listen mate this was one fantastic trip good company the craic was superb (i think i might have even pissed myself once lol) ive been lucky to have seen a bit in my lifewith different types of hunting and fishing in different parts of the world but nothing even come close to this IT WAS FANTASTIC daz hope you are having a good night with the wife lol she must be a member lol poor buger Quote Link to post

bigdaz 688
An instance and an example.I owned a first cross collie greyhoiund from Hancock, a solid reliable bitch. I caught thirty six rabbits with her in one field in September in roughly an hour and a half. no messing straight to hand, the vast majority squatters, the total running time wouldn't have equalled that of a half dozen lamp shy rabbits. All situations are different and to be honest most people who haven't experienced the numbers talked about can't imagine it's possible. 1 Quote Link to post

Once had a field near us that was a reclaimed tip the top layer was pure sand back of the late 90s if you shone the lamp out there the entire field moved like in aussie films I have seen and the old man said it was like pre mixy days . Sadly now a cricket field all the coneys where buried by the graders still some plauge the pitch from the hedgerows but nowt like it use to be . I am sure most members would not bellive the number in that one field but the funny thing is I am not sure if you would catch that many off that field as the dogs struggled with selection as you could only light up about 40 coneys in one go ATB Cookie Quote Link to post
