bryson 562
thats a cracking few nights out i bet all involved are shattered can you tell us what cross the dogs are tommo or would you rather leave it to the lads to put up when there back Quote Link to post
Mixed Bag 603
its easy, its boring, its not possible, all sounds like sour grapes to me. yes it would be very boring if you were gutting and skinning them afterwards but im sure any hunter whos proud of their dogs capabilities would find land with those amounts of game exciting to hunt. bet if the gripers had a dog that had done the ton they wouldnt hesitate coming on and bragging about it. come on lads is it so hard to say well done when someone achieves a good bag 7 Quote Link to post

bird 9,938
Brill bags there and to get over the Ton with 1 dog is Great, them dogs are very fit animals, but another thing even if a dog got the tank for nights like above, some dogs get fed up after with a (yo- yo thing) coming back 50-60 times with rabbits. It must be great going to places like that knowing the rabbits not to hard to catch, and the dogs can put a goog night, nothing worse than running dozen on very hard gound just get few,? i thought 30 was good night will after have word with Bryn. 1 Quote Link to post
bunnys 1,228
the dog that bagged 101 rabbits caught 1 rabbit every 4 mins. for 8 hours straight now that would be some dog. depends on the land/time of year/wind though mate, I have not done it myself or seen it done but if walking into a strong wind half of those could have been picked straight out of their seat. I dont understand why people find it hard to believe thats apoint my thinking whereabouts very very very strong winds . atb bunnys. Quote Link to post
bunnys 1,228
the dog that bagged 101 rabbits caught 1 rabbit every 4 mins. for 8 hours straight now that would be some dog. A decent dog could pick up 6 clappers in 4 mins drop them in your hand and not run 100 yards. Your next maths calculation? adzactly right moscow and one would not need to move a metre to bag 15 twenty kelp eaters . atb bunnys. Quote Link to post
chadd 3
SAY NO MORE, outer hebrides, theres only 3 out the bunch what you can run dogs on,, Quote Link to post
whippet 99 2,613
Can it be done? Is it possible? Everybody has there own ideas....... But now we have the answer. 3 lads I know have been away for a few days up north,,, the first night Monday they had 110 ,with 3 dogs,,, the second night Tuesday,, they had 231 rabbits,,,,, this was between 4 dogs,,,, The dog that got most had 101,,,, exceptional I think you would all agree,,,, the next dog got 62 , then 49 ,,, and the last dog had,, 19. Not only are those scores very impressive, but they come on the back of the night befor,,, they also went out again last night,,, but I'm yet to find out the scores... Anyway a big well done to the lads,,, and more importantly to the dogs,, and I know a few farmers that will be very impressed with this pest control.... Just wished I could have been there,,,,Tomo i can only judge land on what ive run on ................but surely the numbers and terrain must make a huge impact on the numbers game..................i suppose when you got four dogs there getting there rest between slips ...............people would never know the truth until they ran there own dogs up there and compared it to there own land...........impressive all the same Quote Link to post
alimac 882
Here we go again!!! Me & a mate did over a ton in about 3 hours, that was with average bull blooded lurchers that are made to look very average when running with what I'd class as a proper sighthound.. Fair play to them, but if uv the right ground & night with the right numbers of bunnies, and dogs that know how to catch them then BIG numbers are possible.. The best of it is the ground we did it on is no longer keepered, he didnt shoot them but had a few pals ferreting quite regular, so roll on when I go back up this year. Will I get bored?? Like hell I will Quote Link to post
asha 48
aye they deserve a rest day after they get home, fairplay men and dogs Quote Link to post
