New EU Polecats

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to show you guys my new Polecats I picked up on Monday from Derbyshire. They are still a bit shy but I can pick them up without any bother and they have settled in well with a couple of my other ferret jills. They are a lot thicker set than my ferrets and obviously look and behave differently. I am made up with them

I plan to work them this season and I was wondering if anyone else had any tips for working pure Polecats on rabbits. I have heard that it can be a challenge.... I know i am going to need some bigger collars for a start as I only work little Jills at the moment!!

Any information would be great, I really cant wait to see how they go. Im not expecting miracles but Im exctied none the less!

I know of plenty of people around Kent they seem to think they are working EU's when they actualy aren't.

I have 3 polecat coloured ferrets that look exactly the same as them two but I know they're not EUs.

What are they being fed on?

Practically all EUs will only eat meat and love fingers!!

I really didnt want to get into this conversation....

I am not asking for approval, i am simply asking for advice on working these polecats, If you dont work them or know anything about working them then dont bother commenting.

I know that they are the real deal otherwise I would not have traveled half way across the country to buy them, I am just after some advice.

Ok, after 23 yrs of keeping ferrets to work them I`ll shut up will I.

I am not offering approval bud, cause I`m not that condacending. They simply are NOT EU POLECATS,, jees, it`s not hard.

Do a search on here and see some of the crap that gets spouted.,

You have nice ferrets there mate, be happy with them

You HOPE they are the real deal cause you were suckered into traveling for what is just a common ferret. If you like I`ll show you my ferrets which are more polecat type than those,,

A couple of friends of mine has EU polies and both have more scars

than skin on their hands.

Lovely looking animals but I would not touch them with your hand

never mind mine.

On tried a welding glove went straight through it

I have two ferrets that are 2 breedings from the wild and that is

close enough even they can be tasty when they are playing

I tend to agree that yours look like ferrets but I am not saying they are

from purely a photo but my 2 are blacker than yours.

and as I said they are 2 matings away from the wild

Good Luck with them

Sam
