pip1968 2,490
i was fishing with a few mates in broxton when we heard squeels in some ferns on an enbankment we turned around to see a stoat carrying a rabbit it ran across a grass path over a little drain pipe and into a tree stump we had the pleasure of seeing this 5 times as it slaughtered a nest of baby rabbits each one like a repeat of the other Quote Link to post

BEARINATOR 2,871
Has anyone's dog caught a mink? Damn things are everywhere thanks to the misguided antis, we used to have a mink farm locally, there for years, then it all kicked off and had to shut down as it wasn't secure enough to stop people letting them out. Had a few mate, mainly with the terriers though Quote Link to post
unicornleather 60
Yes I'd prefer my jrt to take a mink as he's tough but my whippet x saluki lurcher hates and kills big rats, she get a fair few bites whilst doing it but that seems to make her more determined to kill it, she's quick and on the rat before I can stop her. Country Joe 1,411
Tote, years ago I was walking the Nith at Cowhill when my Whippet X Bedlington took off, I noticed two stoats chasing each other in circles out on a shingle back, i couldn't do anything to stop it, she killed the two of them, cant say i was overjoyed, as I have great respect for these little Warriors. By the way did the vasectomy, Hob bring your jill out? Quote Link to post

broonball 38
i had the pup out when she was maybe 15 weeks, spotted a rabbit over gate it spooked and nicked off into some brambles. i got half way across the field and i heard squealing so doubled back. the pup saw off a stoat and showed no interest in the half dead rabbit. another time i was fishing and on the opposite bank i watched a stoat course a rabbit back and forth around 50yds 3/4 times. rabbit didnt seem to want to go to ground. i had an encounter with a weasel once when i worked on a golf course, was on the tractor going to tip a load when i saw a rabbit in middle of track flippin about as if shot, i looked for a shooter and got down to see the rabbit, it had a weasel attatched and i coulda kicked them. the weasel saw me n ran off, i necked the rabbit as it was f****d and threw it aside. after i had tipped off i was back up the track and the rabbit was gone, after a quick look about i saw it being dragged doon a rabbit hole, i grabbed it and out it came weasel attatched. brilliant creatures love seeing them.
