kenny14 656
well my mate has a big lop eard pett rabbit its a big buck! i was reading on the internet that if a buck rabbit domesticated) breeds with a wild doe it will produce a bigger litter than wild buck bby upto 6 - 7 rabbits a litter ! this is why he keeps it he will go off ferreting then come back with the does put them in the pen for 10 days then relase them after they have mated he will then relase them on his permission ! what do you think of that for goid thinking! I'll tell you what I think about the idea.............................. Instead of bringing the Does home and breeding them with his 'big lop eard pett', (and feeding them etc for 10 days) tell your mate to just leave 'em alone for a while 'cos I've heard it said that Rabbits breed like.......................................... well, Rabbits

Aaron Proffitt 142
OK, question...exactly how many rabbits do you guys have in general ? In most places in the US we don't have near as many as we once did . In Oklahoma ,where I live, the jackrabbits seem to be doing just fine; but not nearly the cottontails we used to have. And yet, I'll see some post-hunt pics that you guys post and I'm seeing some impressive numbers of bunnies. You guys have that damn many ?
scothunter 12,609
Yea Aaron they are pretty widespread and plentifull. The local park area 2mibd from my house is crawling with bunnies, but not feasible to hunt them. Dog walkers galore lol. An area wil get wiped out by mixi, but after a year or two they are back with healthy numbers . Defo no shortage of rabbits that's for sure.

Jack.308 40
But What a knob He is 12 or 13 , just try it Young Man but don't get caught But breeding with a domestic coney is just going to dilute the blood line of our great coney even if he is 12 or 13 he should have the brains to work out its bad for the bloodline and will taint his future hunting whn he is older You should read the book " in pursuit of coney" All masd rabbit farmers bred there stock with tame rabbits to create a healthier stronger stock and the did it on a mass scale dout it would do much to the bloodline tbh as most of the rabbits around today will more than likely have tame rabbit in its breeding
WILF 47,243
How to get more rabbits on your land?.......err, give Leveller the lamping permission? Lol lol
The Duncan 802
I think if the owner of the permission finds out, it won't really matter how many they produce,or how big they get. It will prob be his ex permission who cares id still doin it! at least you're honest!
Doohan 46
If you want more rabbits on your permission, the best policy is to not kill everything you catch. Release some, especially the female does. They will produce more offspring for the next season. This policy isn't one I'd employ myself but IMHO it is better than being caught releasing a pet rabbit onto the land & losing your permission. Also lets face it, the chances of a pet rabbit surviving the winter & breeding next year are also slim.
patterdalejoel 669
do the does survive for 10 days in the hutch? i heard of someone trying to keep a wild one and it died of shock
