Elliott 436
Nice one Mike. I haven't been on the forum much, or out shooting due to being busy with our new house that we moved into about three weeks ago. Its a two bed cottage in a rural location with a lovely little log burner. Just half filled my little stone outbuiding with logs for autumn/winter and off out to purchase an axe, sledgehammer and wedge this aft. I've got a busy day splitting and chopping coming up soon. I've laid a new path, three quarters the way through building a small dry stone wall and in a couple of weeks hope to have a small, raised vege patch sorted. The plan is to produce a small amount of veg for the table, get a free source of heating from the log burner and source free range meat from the field I must admit I've been somewhat inspired by your lifestyle Edited September 19, 2012 by Elliott 3 Quote Link to post

milegajo 595
Alot of truth is said in jest! Ask my missus if she liked my winter beard... i really noticed the cold on my face after shaving it. No wonder the scandavians favour them. "smelt like dog" i'm told Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
I watched this review earlier today and think that you did the rifle justice mate. I agree 100% that the rifle is probably more than capable of putting food on the table. If i wanted a occassional hunter something that would serve me well I would have a look at the SMK. I think the rifle has potential if shot correctly to shoot pretty well to modest ranges. Well in mate. Si. 1 Quote Link to post

gurtwurz 792
Nice review mate. I'd recently re-evaluated smk's after seeing a mate hitting small stones at 50yds with an xs20(i think thats the one). Very impressive, especially for the price. Someone in china is definitely making good airguns, just look at the olympic results in the 10m standing!Funnily enough, talking of winter, we ran a 5 day survival course when it was -10 the year before last on the other side of nailsworth to you miles, and with the right preparation and knowledge no-one died from hypothermia, even sleeping under a tarp with no sleeping bag on a couple of nights. Although it did feel like it to some, I'm told... Really enjoying all your posts mate, and looking forwards to meeting you at the meet next month. Cheers, wurz Quote Link to post
