Wullz 408
Was out on friday early, the pinks and greys had given me the slip all week. 1st lot of pinks got up, about 06:15, about 50 yards to my right....thought I had no chance......raging as Friday was following the same pattern again! Anyroads, as I watched them lift and move off behind me, they must have got spooked at being the only birds in the air, so they turned and came back towards me, heading back to the water and even closer to me..... 1st shot folded a pink, straight down, dead in the air......2nd and third shots were no where! As I fumbled for cartridges, I looked out and the skein landed amongst the others already out there.... It took another half hour before the rest got up, this time away to my left, about 100 yards and heading north-west-ish.....my mate had a couple of shots with his 10, but nothing came down. I took my new dog down through the gorse and she ran straight out to where the bird had come down and she brought it back to hand, nice as you like. Chuffed to bits, got my 1st pink of the year and the wee dog performed better than I could have hoped for...looking forward to the rest of the season now....
