happyferret123 13
I bought some of that ferret formula. It does help encourage them not to bite. One of my ferrets I got second hand was a bitter. I made sure all meat was fed from my hand (which I cut up into small pieces) so she had to come up to me if she wanted any. Handled her several times a day, also got other people to handle her. If she looked like she was going to bite I said No in a firm voice, took a while to learn but keep on going she will be fine in a couple of weeks! Quote Link to post
jimster68 123
first of all feed your ferret before handling ,then rub your hands in vinegar and pick up your ferret ,if your ferret trys to nip or bite the taste of vinegar will put it off .ive done this before and it worked for me ....jim Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
If it 's still trying to bite you after it has lost it's milk teeth and grown it's perminent teeth..it want's a sharp bang on the head with something heavy because it will probably never stop..you get some that are born biter's and no matter what you do it does not work.. I dont know why i even put their age, i werent suggesting theyre too old already . just intersted how much time ive got. im sitting here covered in bite marks and drops of blood ive had to put them away agin. they climb all over me and bit any bit of skin they can find. Then f**k off before i can grab them Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
Personaly i would give them around 8mth or less if you have owned them from kit's and if they are still trying to savage you by then they will not change IMO.. Quote Link to post

I was pretty terrified at first i must admit after some of the stories ive heard but i dont think i am now. only had them a week so ive just gotta be patient. The spit on the hand seemed to work with 1 of them. I think maybe i should interact with them 1 at a time cos together theyre a bit of a handful Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
Deffinitly one at a time Crorider..you take turn's handling and playing with them them seperately.. Quote Link to post
sam4530s 37
i was at a game and country fair today and there was a ferret rescue stand there , i was telling the lady about the video on page 3 as we was on the subject of nippy ferrets and she was telling me that if you dont feed them meat that they WILL start to bit , i dont know how true this is,give it a go ??? what you got to loose ??? at least you wont end up on a register down the rspca Quote Link to post
joe14 98
I do think meat especially with kits fills them up so they are less inclined to bite. But this thread ive never heard owt like it ever before and iv heard some bullshit about ferrets. Amazing what some people view as right and wrong? Would you piss on your dog, bet the answer is no.
