A couple of trips up the dales

Recommended Posts

After spending most of last season laid up in hospital or at home but unable to get out, I am making a concerted effort to get in amongst it a bit more this year and also figured it was about time I stopped being rubbish about not taking photos on our trips out and hopefully take the time to throw the odd night up on here

I have been out almost every night so far this month for the odd run as part of my physio (or at least thats the story the wifes getting) with the dogs starting to find their stride, blow off a few cobwebs and putting a few bits and bats to bed. The following are some bigger trips out we have had since beginning of our season all on the same chunk of land, in the dales and all ending up with numbers in the early to mid 30s.and some crap quality pictures to go with lol.

Last weekend in August we had a run out taking my big dhX pup who is about 15months now and my mates young sal/grey/whippet to hopefully get them some exposure to some fairly green rabbits and get some mileage under their feet. Something about the night just worked well though with a good wind etc and ended with 32 in the bag between the two of them. Impressed with both dogs on a good first effort although with the steep banks and numerous runs both were absolutely knackered.

had a couple of other runs up there with a bag of 22 and a of 34 as well. These times with my older dog and the same bitch belonging to my mate also in one of the pics is another mate young bullx pup who joined us on one of these trips. Pup also did very well.

crap quality pic taken on phone when sitting down for a rest and gutting a few to reduce the weight lol

Thanks mate, its been an interesting year like. Am still pretty crap on my feet hence what duggys saying. My calves are still f****d but thighs less bad, I am good for about half an hour of walking round those type of hills then it all starts to go wrong lol and i end up on my arse on and off for the rest of the night! getting over stuff is also pretty sporty and often end up with cramp in both legs lol.

Still worth it to put stuff infront of the dogs though, will sort something out soon mate
