Acuspell 329
I have been a convert to .20 since 1996. I wouldn't give house room to a .177 any longer and sold them off. I keep my HW77 in .22 out of nostalgia, because my son likes using it and I bought it new in 1985. I also have a Theoben SLR98 in .22, and that is such a sweet shoitng rifle I won't be parting with that unless something drastic happens. My other 3 are all .20 calibre: Theoben Taunus, break barrel gas ram Theoben Rapid mk1, 1996 - BRILLIANT rifle, you won't regret it. Daystate Huntsman with a Theoben barrel on it, one of 20 Huntsman .20 they made with left over Rapid 12/200 barrels bought from Ben Taylor and remachined to fit the Daystate action. The Taunus is an old friend that got me into the .20 thing and for which I am very grateful. Short, pointable and a great woodland rifle. Self contained. The Rapid is also short and compact, but you can't put a sling on it very well - I don't like the bottle clamp mount - so I tend to use it on shorter hunts. The Huntsman was bought on a whim, because of its special nature. A lovely sophisticated rifle that can hit a drawing pin at 40 yards, but I think I prefer the Rapid. Undecided. I shan't sell it I use it and enjoy using it when I do. As for .20. People complain there is a limited pellet choice for the calibre. That is because all the ones you are likely to need are made in it, you don't need the rest. A poor excuse to use other calibres, and then only use one or two pellet types in it anyway!
