How many rabbits on the bounce

Recommended Posts

Out of interest, I generally keep a mental count of how many rabbits I run and what the catch ratio is on a night.

I often lose count, but out of interest how many have you had without missing one? Which is inevitably going to happen, usually the second one for me.

Obviously it means sweet FA really as land amount of rabbits and luck all play a roll..just wondering.

i got an old bitch that did thirty on the bounce with out missing ,she missed the 31st going under a rail fence into a railway box .she did that in front of two individual witnesses who are members on here

I wouldn't get the chance to run 31 Rabbits in one outing, for one reason or another, especially in less than 2 hours........it must be a nice nights lamping.

same here in some places were lucky to see 30 in night

at least we dont call ourselvs legends ,,kid

ran 32 caught 28 in 1 night with old flash was well pleased here he is

It would be easier for me to count how many my dog misses on the bounce! I'm sure in the right conditions we'd match the 40's!!!!!

Nasher, I have heard many, many times about dogs and their achievements on an outing. I never get overly impressed, due to circumstances and conditions some high numbers are possible. I have been up and down the Country over the years and seen a lot of sport. Some of the local Hunts around me would comfortably 'dig out' a couple of brace or more in a day............some Hunts may have only get one dig a meet, some none! Country, population, experienced Field etc, etc. You were happy with the 7 on the Golf Course........all that matters.

a dog could take many on the bounce if choosing runs, for example, only slipping on squatters

mine were all took as they came ,all on the move in about hour and three quarters ,down this end of the country we dont have the luxury of picking and choosing our runs nor the luxury of permission .this particular night she was running sutton banks in hereford

well done mate, sounds like you have a good dog on your hands

have never done a whole lot of lamping, normally just pick up three or four when i need some dog food, but had a first cross collie grey that caught 17 on the bounce working with ferrets, no nets. but she was a VERY good dog, and I'd give my eye teeth for another like her.
