how to identify,edible mushrooms

hi every one

are these mushrooms OK to eat? and if any one knows of a pocket size book,so i can compare while i am in the field! it would be appreciated

 

 

 

i would like to get some knowledge of wild mushrooms as i believe its there season?

and mainly so i stay alive

yes wild mushroom pinkish underside and the white bit should peel nice from the edge

Just to be certain though, use your knife to cut through one, if it developes what looks like a yellow bruise don't eat it! Means its a yellow strainer which is deadly poisonous.

Especially when i was at School a long time ago

walking down the playing fields picking them up and eating as we went along

by the time We walked back up from the bottom We were all tripping

So Grounds man always kept grass extra short to stop them growing from then on

i would just keep in your mind knowing that even professionals die every year by making 1 small mistake, theres many mushrooms out there that look like the edible ones but are deadly poisonous atb adam

I found two juicy looking common puffballs on a stroll the other day. Roger Phillips has written some good books on the subject. Mushrooms

Without the need to take the risks with wild 'shrooms I tend to just photograph and learn as I go.
