PRICE OF EELS

Recommended Posts

Once you get past the slimey, slippery look of them they taste great  Pity I dont see them much in west Wales markets these days.

Last two I saw were reeled in together on a two hooked trace when we were fishing in the Cleddau estuary!

Gutted, skinned, then cut into bite sized pieces and lightly fried in butter.............Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

They're beautiful tasting. Ever since I was a kid, whenever I was trout fishing any Eels I caught were cooked and eaten first. IMO though, jellied Eels just taste of, well, jelly!

:bad: :bad:

They sound absolutely horrid...all respect and love, but wow. I don't know if I could stomach it.

You still get nets as far up the Thames as Tower Bridge there not as popular these days but still once in a while i,ll pull up at a Tubby Issacs stall and have a natter with the black cabbies over a nice tub of jellied eels with lashings of pepper and vinegar....or maybe some oysters or winkles...............beats all these poncey foie gras and saivoury sorbets these soppy little jamie oliver gaffs are serving up !

Which one was that i think theres only 2 stalls left now one in Petticoat Lane the other in Walthamstow High St.............they do say in London your never more than 20 foot away from a rat so i can well believe it.......get a good atmosphere round the stalls on a saturday morning especially when the Hammers are at home :D

I can remember Danny Williams and another lad called Adrian Carew that's the time I was training there mate. Fitroy lodge , fisher all good Amatuer clubs. Sorry for hijacking the thread lads but when you get two londoners on the subject of eels it leads to other things like boxing or football lol

Hi I’m new and wasn’t too sure where to post, we have our first lurched pup, he’s 13 weeks and had his injections we took him out yesterday it was wet, and he ate some cow poo however he was sick in car on the way home, today he’s got the start of diarrhoea and is shivering, my question is could it be the cow poo or the fact he got cold
      Thankyou

I was playing with a tennis ball in the garden with my dog and when he tried to pick up the ball he yelped and didn’t wanna play no more and his tail went in like he was scared so as I went to check his mouth he cries when I open it, I’ve tried to feed him and he eats but he doesn’t want to open his mouth too wide he nibbles on his food? Any help?

Damn what the f**k is this, my camera noticed it in the forest near my hut, who can explain what kind of f***ing is this? I recently walked through the woods and saw such garbage, I thought it seemed to me, but it seems that it is not. I'm now f***ing afraid to go there. My wife says I'm a dickhead. This asshole in the bottom left corner.

If anyone sees Fairgame at all, can they please, please ask him to get in touch with Foxy in Devon as soon as possible. I realise it's a bit of a blast from the past, but I would be so grateful if anyone can help.
      Many thanks.
