killbilly 17
I hope Galway win the replay....I'm sick of the sight of Cody's men collecting the title, its not good for the game their near total dominance of the past decade:( Edited September 11, 2012 by killbilly
dytkos 17,784
We were in Cork in 2001 (I think) and it was the semi or final of the hurling championship. Cork Vs Munster (again, memory ain't too good ) The atmosphere in the city centre was really good but typical Irish, one team played in yellow and blue and the other in blue and yellow Cheers, D. mr scent 665
Umpteen threads about over paid spoilt children and the grown men that follow them ( ) to look forward to then Not really. Hurling is an amateur unpaid sport played for county by grown ups, as well as that it's the fastest field sport in the world and doesn't rely on imported players It is the complete opposite to soccer. Yes but nobody gives a shit about it...............football is the most popular sport in the world for a reason a couple of million would beg to differ ,you watch soccer you see grown men diving when someone barely touchs them .You watch hurling and you men with broken limbs taped up and heads split open still playing on for the full match .Horses for courses i guess

MoChara 1,632
If you dont like/watch anything do do with Hurling then its simple............. dont reply to the thread and let the lads discuss the sport itself. And not turn the topic sour by saying football is a better sport or whatever, Footballers are like wee girls at times, they spend more time rolling about on the floor, gurning about something imo. At the end of the day its each to their own, some like football some like Hurling and some like nither. Just stick to a thread were it concerns the sport you follow etc, saves any bitterness/rows.

Tam O'Void 297
My youngest boy...aged 6 ,just joined the school Shinty team, one of his coaches is A Hurley player ,drafted in...not much of a Differance, but they must be going soft Lately ....they all have to wear HELMETS...crack on the head with a bit of wood ! never done me any harm... the pace would have most Schoolboy soccer players on their knees in no time . As for the Americans "WORLD SERIES " Baseball . Is Just that,If you care to look at the Nationalities of the players ..And the YOUTH World Series "Little League" ,Japan beat Tennessee..to take the title..Japans 16 year old Pitcher , will go on to play In the Majors .worth a bet Now !! I may be young gnasher but im not naive. I dont have alot of advice to give but i do have alot of opinions. I was just merely stating that this thread should not turn sour over different veiws. You put yourself as a through and through sports man, but is it only for football and boxing.?I in no way was trying to slate you in my comment, as above i was merely stating this thread shouldn't turn sour. And i agree with the others in saying Hurling is a more intensive harder sport than football, so hence why i said about footballers being wingy as feck, but if you want to take it in a bad light and call me "Mo Theresa" you go right ahead - as its obviously your opinion
