We were in Cork in 2001 (I think) and it was the semi or final of the hurling championship.

Cork Vs Munster (again, memory ain't too good :icon_redface: )

The atmosphere in the city centre was really good but typical Irish,

one team played in yellow and blue and the other in blue and yellow :blink::whistling:

Hurling is a real mans sport any 1 who ever played wud tell you how tough it is you have men payed crazy money to play football when they get touched they roll around like they have been shot and yet hurlers get ash hurleys broke off there shins and not a word real men and when 2 men tackle each other shoulder to shoulder for that ball you don't see them looking to the ref they put there body's on the line for the pride of there county and they don't get the big money these so called super athletes get as for the replay love to see Galway win cats a great side but good for the game if Galway do it

Not really.

Hurling is an amateur unpaid sport played for county by grown ups, as well as that it's the fastest field sport in the world and doesn't rely on imported players  It is the complete opposite to soccer.

Yes but nobody gives a shit about it...............football is the most popular sport in the world for a reason ;)

a couple of million would beg to differ ,you watch soccer you see grown men diving when someone barely touchs them .You watch hurling and you men with broken limbs taped up and heads split open still playing on for the full match .Horses for courses i guess

My heros !!.........you want to watch blood and guts watch a war film....i prefer to watch athletic skill and competetive ability...........and a couple of million out of 7 odd billion hardly amounts to a popular sport does it !.............or is the majority of the world wrong

If you dont like/watch anything do do with Hurling then its simple............. dont reply to the thread and let the lads discuss the sport itself. And not turn the topic sour by saying football is a better sport or whatever,

Footballers are like wee girls at times, they spend more time rolling about on the floor, gurning about something imo.

At the end of the day its each to their own, some like football some like Hurling and some like nither. Just stick to a thread were it concerns the sport you follow etc, saves any bitterness/rows.

You will not get much more athletic skill and fitness than hurling the speed and intesesity it's played at is unreal no rest for any player your on your toes at all times easy no you have never played the game to state you prefer athletic combative ability as hurling tops the bill when you want just that try roll a ball up on to a hurl and put it over the bar from 70 yards out then talk about skill unless you have played the game you have not got a clue

I may be young gnasher but im not naive. I dont have alot of advice to give but i do have alot of opinions. I was just merely stating that this thread should not turn sour over different veiws. You put yourself as a through and through sports man, but is it only for football and boxing.?

I in no way was trying to slate you in my comment, as above i was merely stating this thread shouldn't turn sour. And i agree with the others in saying Hurling is a more intensive harder sport than football, so hence why i said about footballers being wingy as feck, but if you want to take it in a bad light and call me "Mo Theresa" you go right ahead - as its obviously your opinion
