Country Joe 1,411
Hows everyone getting on with Salmon fishing at the moment, going for a big day out tomorrow How did it go? It's been a struggle on the Nith this year as it was last. Have managed 6 salmon so far but have put some hours in for them. Had a walk up the Nith today, started at Dalscone, and finnished at the top boards, about 6 miles, saw six Fishermen, various beats, all had caught nothing, in fact i never saw a Fish, and it was a good water, running off tea coloured. Years ago I would walk these fields, and always see at least a couple of Hares and a few rabbits, the last four times ive seen naught. According to the Fishermen this is one of the poorest Seasons the Nith has had. Quote Link to post
lifelong cumbrian 1,826
Seems to be poor on most of the Solway rivers, Esk is quiet, Eden also and the Derwent could not get any worse. Dont know what has happened this season hopefully they will come late but not holding my breath on that. Quote Link to post
MOO 730
we had 47 last week on our beat Quote Link to post

noggin2511 2
All the rivers in North West Cumbria are very quiet and if the fish are running late we need them to get a move on as there is only 5 weeks left. I have had 5 which is really poor for the time i have put in. The floods of 2009 as a lot to answer for i would say. Quote Link to post
