The one 8,503
The only downside i can think of is the extra length i find it a pain when shooting out the car 1 Quote Link to post
java53 30
yes my air rifle drops 12 foot per second with silencer on high and to the right when of atb Quote Link to post
Buster321c 1,010
Dropping power when the silencer's on ? If it did it would be minute , why the concern ? Do you honestly think it'll make a difference ? Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Really, they are at their best for PCPs. I cannot say with certainty I've noticed any great muting of sound from my FAC HW80 that has one currently fitted. It makes the rifle longer but, hasn't upset the balance in any way. In fact it has improved the balance to near-perfection with the scope's mounted weight, so. for that alone, it's going to stay on. But it certainly does nothing to silence the crack of the spring piston action striking on firing it. Never heard of a loss of power or change of POI accuracy with one though. (?) jackinbox99 41
On my s410 pcp a silencer makes a big difference, but on my springer it seems to make no difference at all, as the main noise seems to come more from the hammer hitting than the pellet leaving. Quote Link to post
ghillies 209
yup most change the poi...and lose a fraction of power. but.. you set the gun up any way so its not worth worry about. on a springer it can llengthen to an advantage of extra leverage. noise levals reduced but not much. on a pcp..oooooo whisper quiet. why the quiet? you get more shots in before everything runs off, you dont go deff... in a lot of cases you can even take several shots untill the target realises. in rat turms, you get say 15 opertunaties unsilenced, verses all night silenced. long turm its a case of let the springer off once and they all hide, pcp wise that day is much later on. so you'll get more basically. and yes i've heard all the 'i use me 410' fff yeh once in a blue moon and get oooo 3-5 maybe 6 or 7 lol... do that for a week it'll be one a week lol. Very good points here. When im out getting rabbits, with the s410 and silencer, you can shoot one rabbit and the one sitting next to him doesnt even bat an eyelid that his mate has just kealed over. So you end up getting several rabbits quickly. If you used a shotgun, yep, the rabbits will vanish. They are very quick learners. Even with the air rifle, after the first couple of times you have bit the permission and their mates havent come back home they will get very nervous and as soon as you enter the field they will leg it. iana 25
Not too sure about using the silencer for leverage on a springer. I had one on my and after a while it began to loose accuracy. Took the silencer off and shots were fine, so the conclusion I came too was that after so long the silencer became very slightly deformed. Sold my now in favour for s410 fac. Quote Link to post
