Hello...I've been skulking around reading posts for a while and tried to register a couple of times but it didn't seem to work. I've finally got through but now don't seem to have anything to say for myself

I have 2 lurchers and live in West Yorkshire. Got lots to learn and looking forward to getting stuck in...

Welcome aboard matey! :)

If you're using your lurchers for hunting why not share your experiences with the rest of us on the appropriate site?

Enjoy yourself anyway!

Oh yeah, that's what I coulda said! My merle bitch lived loose in the woods for several months before she was caught and is very hand shy and a bit free lance. She does bring to hand but I couldn't say I work her because she's just not that responsive to commands and gets anxious if I direct her too much - needs a very light touch even after 18 months.

I also have a deerhound cross dog though who came with some good habits installed by whoever had him before. I'm training him at the moment for lamping in the autumn. He's more effective than my bitch.

I'll start posting in the right places and asking for advice too.
