Just a quick rant about so called hunting groups on facebook!

 

I dont know how many of you use facebook but I seem to see more and more of these so called 'hunting groups' on there. Do people not see that these poorly run groups are detremental to hunting as a whole as even though i try to avoid scanning them at all possible costs, I have already seen one with a LIVE rabbit being thrown round a living room for a 12 week old pup to chew on (this was in full video) so clearly shows an animal being cruelly treated for a so called hunting lurcher to learn by! And have no witnessed 11 month old puppies being offered for stud!!!!

 

Sorry for moaning but it drives me mad when there are lots of people out there working very hard to get rid of the ban and then on the other hand we have so called hunters posting things like that on open groups on facebook.

Seen some lads putting up stupid photos and talking about stuff that would get them banged up and their dogs taken, and all this on full display to anyone who wishes to join the group.

There are some proper tools on them groups, talking about dogs that do stripeys and zebras like that's some special code that no anti could ever decipher. f*****g plebs the lot of them, I've joined a few over the years and left within seconds of some gimp wanting to know how's that bred? what you work it on? pups for sale etc etc it's full of peddlars and messers.

I think two things that have helped to bring down lurcher work and Hunting are mobile 'phones and the Internet !

 

It's so easy now for dog walkers, joggers, hikers, etc., to see someone going about their LEGAL business of ferreting, lamping, whatever, to jump to conclusions and 'phone the police !

 

Not only are the Internet sites monitored by anti's, the RSPCA, police, and other groups who want ALL field sports banned, but the in-fighting we do amongst each other, on the 'net, only helps them !

The ban was debated long before the ban. Most of the stuff on t'internet is post ban. So it may not have had much to do with the ban coming in, but it sure as hell won't help get it overturned.

Unfortunately the current lurcher situation is full of egotistical plebs that should never be allowed to own a dog, bull crosses are now presumed to be the domain of chavs and dickheads, and in most cases its true, bit of a downer for the genuine enthusiast. These are full of childish people who like to destroy things, they have no consideration for anything or anyone not even the dogs they are running, this fieldsport has a really bad name thanks to these people and we get it all in the neck for there behaviour, there are many legit people running dogs but there are alot more idiots with dogs
