new to long nets

hi just picked up a long net only started ferreting last year, i have to go out and make some poles for the net,what is the best size to make them too

I make mine about the diameter of my little finger and the length roughly from my armpit to the palm of my hand.

Sounds about right ss but id cut some a little longer as well just in case the ground your working is soft or newly sown.

Easiest way is buy doweling at three foot does the job and cheap

I find if you can get some electric fence poles cut them to size work well
