Find it Catch it Kill it 0
Hi all got out pigeon shooting for the first time this season yesterday and had a great time and a lot of success. But I'm using the old mans decoys and decided to get out and get my own kit. is it best i get shell or full bodied and flocked or unflocked or does any of this actually matter? i was drawing the pigeons in well with my dads 40 year old decoys so i know it isn't everything but if I'm to spend money getting decent kit i want the best so any advice welcome lads cheers Quote Link to post
bossman999 9
I find it doesn't matter , i got flocked ,shell and fuds , they all work if the conditions are right, all i will say is ,i use a couple of bouncers just to add movement which helps alot if the birds are coming in then all good and well Quote Link to post
remi700 99
Yep i agree with that. Movements the key to decoying anything. A few shells and a few bouncers then build your pattern up with dead birds as you go. Atb Mark 1 Quote Link to post
MOO 730
dont bother with decoys ...buy cradles, bouncers, flappers and a magnet and always keep a ew dead birds in your freezer 1 Quote Link to post
hotshot2me 31
You've obviously been doing something right, so why not stick to what your doing, but if your intent on buying your own decoys buy flocked they are not dependent on weather meaning no rain. They are reasonably priced now on e-bay, as some have said you need some movement in your pattern so a pro magnet or flapper, you can buy full bodied with rotating wings that you can set up on a thin garden cane, these are very good but are dependent on wind, but if you have been using a particular pattern that works stick to it until it stops working then don't be afraid to change it and try something different: Dave Quote Link to post
