tegater 789
Mine is made from a piece of rebar that I cut off and got a mate to weld another piece of it on as the handle. The next one I get made will have a small ball bearing welded on the end as well, to assist feeling when it breaks through into the tunnel. Go to the right places and rebar can be picked up for free, as off cuts. Quote Link to post

When the ball breaks through there is no soil gripping the bar, if that makes sense. It was something I learnt with the smaller version I now use on mole runs. 2 Quote Link to post

sam007 34
I always carry two ,1 is about 12ins long and the other is about 2ft 6ins I find the short one is easier to handle when I am head down and arse up in a hole they are both made of 12mm stainless with a stainless nut welded on the end and ground down to a lump on the point Quote Link to post
