Advice Required to fit roof lamp (Lightforce with remote handle) to L200

Recommended Posts

Dropped my car at my garage for my lightforce 170 with the remote handle to be fitted to the roof of my 04 reg L200 and the mechanic says the support bar runs down the middle and he would need to fit it off-centre which makes me nervous, anyone else had this problem on a L200 and did you find away around it? ....picture of it would be nice as proof he can do it! I reckon he is bluffing as it is slightly more complicated than he anticipated and is looking for me to give him an easy option

Why not buy the suction bar so there's no nasty hole in the roof and can be transferred from car to car

That is fine when you live in sunny England and not so good when you live in feckin freezin rainy Scotland lol, and I got a feeling it is going to be a harsh winter this year and it would be nice not to have the wind and rain in the car for a change.

The garage are cracking on with it tomorrow so I will let you know how it goes

Most cars have support bars through the centre of the roof Dave, just tell him to offset the lamp on the roof to one side, mines in the centre but I drilled through the support, the lamp when fitted stiffened things back up

Mine is offset on my old landy. I've fitted a few others too, depending on what the individual wanted. If you drive around yourself, it's handy at the Drivers side, (of centre) if there are 2 of ya, it's handy on the passenger side.

Landy has a box section running down the outside of the roof tho, so no option but go either side

Had mixed results with suction cup type, and like ya say, not much good with the weather up our way....That's why I'm changing landy doors to winding window type! :icon_eek:
