northern lad 2,292
well, after 6 long months finally got the ferrets out today arrived at the nursery in knutsford, full of optimism, the owner pointed us in the right direction and away we went.....on arrival at the first plantation we saw one bunny sat out sadly this was the only one we were to see all day .The hedgegrows were nigh on impenetrable, the undergrowth lush , green and very thick .Despite covering the entire place of approx 20 acres we neither saw nor troubled another rabbit :icon_redface:on the upside the jill I kept back from last years litter worked like a pro.Now sat here with nettle stung hands, removed several thorns from my head and a large swelling on my right hand courtesy of a horse fly Happy days ,all in all a good day out in good company, some beautiful land and the ferrets doing there thing...next time hopefully the bunnies will read the script YIS Dave 1 Quote Link to post

seanc 201
The only way is up from here mate, used to do a bit of lamping round Knutsford many years ago we used to park up on the motorway service station and go on the fields behind. There were loads about from what I can remember. Might be worth a knock around there. Regards Sean Quote Link to post
northern lad 2,292
The biggest problem on that particular nursery is we cant use the whippet to mark up,due to there being literally thousands of bamboo canes sticking out of the ground at all angles so we had to keep netting up and hoping. To be fair we didnt expect an awful lot its there for later on when its all died back might even try my old border terrier on there eitherway the nursery owner was glad to see us turning up again, she knows we will clear it this winter,no matter what it was great to be out with the ferts again forgot to say it was roasting too ,by the time we had walked up the lane I was sweating like a priest in a line up my face is sunburnt to hell,(in a few days this will go brown, adding further to my greek god like looks ) Quote Link to post
