Guest The Big Fish
The one i have is slightly smaller than yours R.teer, but the chickens still go through without bother, rabbits too. All this mincing, soon i will have muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger, then i will be able to star in 'Terminator 15 "death of the coney"' Quote Link to post

skycat 6,174
WEll, my mincer just arrived from Northern Tool: having bolted it securely on to a work bench type of thing, we then had to bolt the bench to the walls and floor of our shed! It's a two handed job for lil 'ol me to push a bunny through but I managed it: and the chicken carcases go through easy peasy, and a couple of heads of celery and a cabbage! It's certainly going to give me a good work out to push a dozen or so bunnies through it: throw your exercise bikes and rowing machines away girls and get a mincer! Oh, by the way, it says on the instructions: don't put bones through it! Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,611
i quite like this type of mincer... So do i mate but the freezer isn't keen on it that big before the dogs get it. Mine is full of chicken backs and lamb necks and ribcages which are more stackable than rabbits. Quote Link to post

I have sharpened the blades gently with a file and they smashed through some lamb very easily. Wishing you all the best with your new toy, Nik Quote Link to post

Cheapskate didnt you buy a electric one all that meat I get I would have arms like arnie if I had to put it through a hand grinder :weight_lift2: Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
Couldn't afford an electric one! And I AM getting arms like Arnie! LOL It's really a total body work out: and it's not just that I'm a weak and feeble female: even Andy worked up a real sweat helping me do 2 full trays of chicken carcases and veg> I'll have put on at least 5 kilos in muscle by the time you see me in August! More productive and cheaper than going to a gym anyway. Quote Link to post
Guest Rabbiteer
Last night I had a bit of a small mince-athon as I put 30kilos of chicken through my mincer and I can definatly tell you it was emotional. I had the wife and kids working in teams to pack the stuff in 1lb bags as I was mincing it. £6 for 30kilos of chicken and once it was minced and packed it still didnt fill my small freezer. So I reckon the next session will be on for about 50kilos. The mincer worked great but you guy's are right I did get hot doing it. I should have taken some before and after phots really. Wishing all the mincers all the best, Nik Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
Good excersise for ya. Frank. Quote Link to post
jpt 285
What a bloody ball ache that was! REMEBER TO SEPERATE THE RABBITS BEFORE FREEZING THEM! Anyway it works a treat but you don't get as much as I thought you would from mincing 9 rabbits. I suppose I will haveto get off here and back out there and get some more then eh! To anyone who is thinking about getting a micer from Northern Tool then I personaly recommend them. They are worth it for shaw and it gets the old ticker pumping! JPT Quote Link to post
