pianoman 3,587
I'm not able to join in as, again, I'm out working on my company's stand at RAF Coningsby's Avro Lancaster event this Sunday. (And I need every penny right now!) Burt, Davy. Wurz Si and Chaz, if you are going have a great day and show em what you got! Next year I'm gonna get myself sorted and see if I can go all out for the title! It'll be a great crack and I want a shot at it! Pianoman Quote Link to post

Well done to everyone in our group of 4 plus our support staff / friends who assisted with the score cards and filming etc. It was a total team effort and without everyones help I wouldn't of achieved what i did. Davy, Wurtz, Malc, Chaz, Rommels and my lovely Laura. Si. Edited September 30, 2012 by zini Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
Aaah...I was wondering how you were all getting on.... WOW!! BLOODY WELL-SHOT ALL OF YOU!! Uphill shots, tricky blind spots and a hefty wind element. Not easy to shoot accurately over a course like this. Si I wouldn't have expected anything less of you and the first place winner will not have had his victory lightly! Brilliant shooting Si AND..... Credit where due here mate; Tony Wall does an undoubted fine tuning job, Wonderful, I might add. BUT, it's your superb shooting with it and putting it all together at the target is what brought home the trophy! But, I'm specially proud of our John/Wurz here. Overcame his nerves and apprehensions like I knew he would. That's where the battle is won or lost to begin with. I have the greatest admiration for my friend here. I know what he had to really get over. And pulled down a most respectable score. Be proud of yourself John lad! Fabulous effort as a team and individually from all of you. Si. Wurz, Malc, and Davy! Best wishes and regards to all of you. Simon. 1 Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
Awww, thanks for the kind words simon, both here and t' other night mate, I really appreciated the pep talk my dear friend. Well done indeed Si, excellent shooting mate, and well deserved :-) We had a cracking day, as usual the banter was merciless and hysterical, laughter flowed back and forth around our gang, and if you ever wanted proof that the caliber of your rifle doesn't matter then it was here lol Cheers for the use of your sofa davy, and all the laughs as ever mate, thanks chas for the coaching lol, and laura and rommels for the sterling support work all day. Nice to meet malc ' the badger' barnard, who did bloody well with an unfamiliar gun, especially under the added pressure of being filmed throughout.. SPARE ME YOUR LIFE STORY!! Cheers all, wurz 1 Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Thank you Simon. Im just about 100% sure if you would have been shooting your 77 yesterday you would have come home with the gold my friend. I don't want to take anything away from the winner as he did brilliantly, but with your remarkable marksmen skills I just feel it would of been in the bag for you. Got to agree about John / Wurtz, he was the star of the day for me and i actually thought he had beaten all of us in the group until the scores were added up at the end. He shot a brilliant round and seemed to really do well all day pulling off shot anyone would be proud of. A score of 53 would of put him 5th place in the UK, even higher if there wasn't a 3 way tie for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place and a shoot off needed. 5th is a placing anyone would be proud of so well done again John. Yep the banter was brilliant as usual and other groups must of thought us as mad laughing and joking about. Malcs funny and takes a good ribbiing, giving back as good as he gets. On a whole a great day and one hopefully more from here will attend next year. Si. Edited October 1, 2012 by zini 1 Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
I agree with si here, not the bit about me lol but about simon's shooting skills. I think you should defo enter next year mate, you would definitely raise some eyebrows with your skills mate! Wouldn't it be great if the THL lads came out of nowhere and took all the trophies, in both calibers next year! Cheers, wurz 2 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Si, Wurz that is so kind of you to speak of my own shooting in the light of your victories. This is your hour gentlemen along with Davy too; and you must know for certain, that your shooting is the finest among the best and I'm not going to say anything that takes anything of that truth from you both. I'm so proud of you all as my dear friends doing bloody marvelous shooting. Your banter showed the rest of the pack the level of friendship and marksmanship there is here. I wouldn't expect anything less than this from you lads. Next year however....Okay then! I'm going to work on my crosswind deflection and upslope aspect shooting. My sincere congratulations Si. A truly well deserved victory mate! :clapper: :clapper: Simon Edited October 1, 2012 by pianoman 1 Quote Link to post
