Guest Leveller
These young dog lads may well have permission you seem to be tarring them with other issuse rather that the first comment you made.. Bringing sub arguments/ outlandish statements to table, to fuel your argument.. If we're talking about a few lads with permission great no problem there, they've obviously put the groundwork in and done it properly no problem whatsoever good for them well done. Here's a question lets say you are that young lad, you've secured your patch of land it's lifting with gear and you look forward to the windy night when you can walk the land, your dog's fit and your lamps fully charged you arrive at the farm to be told "a group of chavs turned up here trespassed and smashed all the foxes in with bullcrosses" is that ok? Probably with hindsight my very original reply to the lad in question may not of been that constructive, he may well be a very decent lad looking to start out and I can only appologise if that was the case however the post smacked of an anti set up to me so I tried to reply in a manner that would make him question his ethics that's all. I never run down any type of hunting with dogs as previously stated I do a bit with various different types and I wouldn't want to see any of them banned. Giro you hit it on the head. He was basically saying that hunt can do as they like and it's ok to poach for meat but no one should trespass for a fox I never basically said that ever. I would never condone theft of any sort, some of my good friends are keepers and I have nothing but respect for them and their work Edited August 30, 2012 by Leveller

If anyone poaches my ground and gets away with it good luck to them. Its very well protected and they have shown some balls and will have had a good spoonful of luck on their side. Your back peddling and loosing respect implying lads who lamp foxes with dogs will also steal poults and fuel. I would rather these young lads chased foxes and left the rabbits and hares for me anyway Edited August 30, 2012 by Giro

redcharge 378
Leveller what chance does a 16 year old lad from a council estate have of gaining some permission from a keeper to run his lurcher or do a bit of pest control with his terriers on the local estate? let me tell you no chance at all, so the young lad should knock the dogs on the head because he's got nowhere to run his dog?
Guest Leveller
Your back peddling and loosing respect implying lads who lamp foxes with dogs will also steal poults and fuel. Not at all, I was merely trying to use it as an example, never once did I say the two went hand in hand I just likened poaching (stealing) to other thefts I know lads that are straight as they come but can't resist the odd bird or trout but if a tenner fell out of my wallet they'd be the first to return it just because someone might poach or walk land they don't have permission on doesn't make them a diesel thief but ask a Keeper how he feels about somebody lifting some of his birds, ask the anyone on Sefton how they feel about lamping..............................................you get the picture it's all relative. Maybe if the young 16 year old went cap in hand and went beating then asked the keeper for rabbiting rating etc you never know eh
