Terrier injury

Recommended Posts

Hi the young terrier of mine has had a nasty injury and it has cut its pad nearly in half side to side and its jus like two flaps n goes nearly through the whole pad. I was wondering do people stitch pads or am i best bathin it keepin clean etc n lettin it heal itself. Shes not in pain with it but obviously limps etc. i was wondering if anyone had any advice before i take her the vets etc n get a big bill. Thanks

I was goin super glue it but didnt know if needed to let it dry first abit and theres nothin to glue to as how its ripped its jus mainly flesh as the actual pad looks like its burst if that makes sense. All the black of the pad wont reach each other. I have kept it clean now for two days as i thought see how it goes but it doesnt seem be healing back together at all. Thats [bANNED TEXT] i heard about stitches they can be more harm than good.

What do is clean it good with peroxide 1 or 2 times then pat it dry. Then I take a pair of my wife's pantyhose and cut two patches. One at a time I superglue 2 patches over the affected pad saturating them thoroughly. Depending on the dogs activity it will last 2-5 days, when it comes off repeat the procedure. Stitches are usually useless.
