Well thats fair. I was sizing her up too.

 

Long dogs, Michigan where I live has a good population of Black bears. Ontario Canada, where I hunted. Has a huge over population of Black bears.

what for mickey ? a rug whats it like roveing about in your territory,you must need to be wary of such animals in the vicinity.Any such thing as strolling about with the dogs on the loose?excuse thes possibly dumb questions but im not clued into how things work in your spot.

Well, they say that Sows with cubs are the biggest threat. But, the one in the film probably had not seen a human being before. Interesting to note, that area was "Crown Land".

 

You can hunt bears with dogs. I used my wirehair to blood track one a few years ago. He has a great love/hate thing for bears now. lol

 

I do worry a little about wolves in the upper peninsula. They have killed quite a few bear hounds, and Livestock protection dogs to date. I keep the dogs as close as I can, and always have a gun. Otherwise, I think people just go about their business. Most wildlife will try to get out of your way if it can.

 

I hope that i was able to answer your questions.By the way, Bear meat is some of the best in the forest. Also, i already have a rug.

you eat bear!!!! hell I never knew that,lol(why would that surprise anyone )lol.thanks for the answers,It doesnt sound quiet like my neck of the woods.the greatest danger would be geting a shock from electric fencing,lol.

Just spent a fortnight over in Ontario. Saw all manor of fantastic wildlife...but no bears. A wonderful place to visit, topped off by a visit to Niagra Falls
