Shepherdess 0
I cant believe the papers have run this story and got all the basic facts wrong. I spoke to Freyas owner lastnight for quite some time getting the facts for this website we are setting up and they seem to have everything wrong. No one has mentioned that the very experienced dog wardens were stood there waiting to go in and capture her and that they were quite happy to do this, no one has mentioned that the Police actually told them to go away, and what the Police thought that they were doing trying to send a Dog handler and German Shepherd into the cemetery god only knows. I think the reason the dog is dead is because the helicopters had been up twice (Thursday night and Friday), the armed response team had been called which I can imagine comes to one hell of a bill - wouldnt they have looked tw*ts if a dog warden had walked out of the cemetery with a dog on a leash. Anyway, I have spoken to the editor of the paper and have asked them if they would like to re-address the situation by printing the truth which can be backed up and have also asked them if they would print the address of the website for the petition - the reporter that did the main piece is going to give me a ring. Ive just spoken to Freyas owner and he is happy for this to happen. So fingers crossed, we may manage to get a little justice for Freya

Guest SJM
Is it true the guy had only had the dog for 2 weeks? Why on earth didnt he have it on a lead when taking it in and out of the car etc? I had my bull terrier dog for months before I felt bonded enough to allow him off the lead on walks, as I bought him when he was allready an adult. It took many more months before I felt comfortable allowing him to exercise freely off the lead with my lurchers. A bit of common sense would have saved this dog being shot If your going to go down the road of buying in an adult animal, it goes without saying you need to spend a great deal of one on one time with that animal before mutual trust is built up. Sorry if that offends but its just my opinion :thumbs-up:

Sorry if that offends but its just my opinion :thumbs-up: He had only had the dog a few hours, he had just picked it up and brought it home, it escaped out of the car door when someone that was with him got out. Anyway some good news, ive spent ages on the phone to the reporter that was responsible for writing the article in the local paper, i've explained that alot more information has come to light which shows that parts of the original article were incorrect, eg the dog biting someone, the fact that dog wardens had tried to catch the dog etc.... He is really interested in the story and is now planning to rewrite it with a totally different angle, he will also be printing the link to the petition website (which will be live this weekend - waiting on pics of the dog). So hopefully this might force the police into giving some answers. Edited June 15, 2007 by Shepherdess
