long dogs 580
my bull x damaged hers last year cost around £50 quid for few tablets and to be told rest it for few months,
MikeTheDog 153
One of mine damaged a nail and it came off after a couple of days, growing a bit pissed just now and due for a trim to sort it. If your dog has a nail sticking up then it must be broken.

MikeTheDog 153
No. Unless you're a gurlie who's ruined her manicure Keep an eye on it, I doubt it will cause any problem imo....It's just like a finger nail.
Sirius 1,391
It's a bit hard to give you advice, as your post isnt clear? If you are just talking about a split of damaged nail, just trim off the split shards (without cutting the quick) file it down and put a few layers of 'Hard as nails' or similar varnish on it, and it will give it some protection while it grows back. But in you post you are talking about money etc? Is it a vet job ie: hanging off? Or do you mean a dew claw?

MikeTheDog 153
Sounds like the nail was ripped off months ago and now new growth is crooked. I have the same here on one of my young dogs, needs a trim as well...lol
skycat 6,173
Sounds as though it has partially detached the nail joint from the rest of the toe, and has healed badly: if it is sticking up too badly I'd look at getting the joint removed, or at the very least, getting the nail surgically removed so it can't grow back. In other words, see a vet.
