Guest Leveller
So when you were hunting with the hounds before the ban you only hunt a fox that is causing a problem.... Hunting and killing are two very different pastimes 1 Link to post
IanB 0
Obviously, (I hope), someone with a UK IP address can still post about things that are LEGAL in other countries, even if they are ILEGAL in the UK; so couldn;t the "warning" be worded to reflect that ? Some people may take the "warning" literally and refrain from posting what could be interesting and informative posts. Cheers. So remove it you mean? As suggesting what you said is pointless. To be honest, this section causes more hassle than any other forum on here.. I don't see how my suggestion is pointless. Why not just say; "Posts relating to ilegal activites will be deleted and the poster banned" ? That would make more sense than the present warning. Cheers. Changed, the outcome is the same though. long dogs 580
yeh i think that not a bad idea checking the posts like in terrier section before they go up Link to post
bigdaz 688
I must be old school, or maybe I'm missing something, but, I can't quite understand the need to post photos of a dog or dogs killing a fox or ragging the carcase whether it was preban or taking place somewhere still legally acceptable. Do folk actually find there pictures interesting, if so I would question their own hunting experiences or maybe it's just small cock syndrome on the part of the poster. 3 Link to post
South hams hunter 8,924
Make it private or vouched for and people think they're safe and get silly then antis etc. have to infiltrate the site to see what's be hidden. Perhaps a preban section of work and for qu.s, pin the topics - deer, fox and hare. How people entered to them before the ban and don't allow any other sections on there Link to post

To be honest, this section causes more hassle than any other forum on here.. So what can be done? Do we just monitor the forum and remove idiots on site..which could take a long long time. Do we make it so members have to be approved by showing they are genuine, trustworthy and can spell their own name, time consuming still... Do we remove the section all together What should be done to improve things for everyone involved..give me some suggestions.. The best section is the lurcher section, its why most of us come on here,But it needs moderating hard as i said on another topic lads wouldnt bother typing sh** if they knew it wasnt going to stay up,and they would get banned.Ive seen lads get banned one night and the next night come back on and restart the topic they got banned for the night before,You wouldnt need to be columbo to work that out. They should be banned again.but often arnt.Get a few more mods that arnt afraid to moderate(not aimed at any one). The genral section should be changed to current affairs or somthing to cut back on all the whats your favourite vegtable type threads. So lads making 50 posts aday might start making some on hunting instead of the place looking like face book.As said earlier by some one it just needs clear rules inforcing farely.Bit like a pack of hounds quite easy to keep order but bloody hard to get them back once rioting. skycat 6,173
Surely if someone is banned for putting inappropriate post up, they can't just reinstate themselves if they have the same IP address, or can they? I don't know how it works, but can't you just ban certain IP addresses: sorry if this has been explained before. Could a bigger team of moderators not get together and agree to monitor the forum 24/7 between them, making sure that there's always someone watching what is posted. A pain in the butt I know, but if people can't be trusted to be sensible, then that has to be the only way. Or, have a probationary period during which every post made by a new member has to be passed by a mod? Link to post
iworkwhippets 12,625
Close the site down for a while, that will make the silly buggers think twice, showing no respect for mods or admin i dont think this would achieve anything, i also dont believe that people are disrespecting mods or admins, just trying to help make the site a better place, atb Ian started THL for all to enjoy. and has clearly stated the rules, time and time again, yet some folks clearly flout those rules, they wouldnt be allowed to get away with it on other dog forums, once banned, thats it, your banned, to lenient on this site, some of the stuff posted asking for trouble, wait and see No respect shown to admin and mods Edited August 29, 2012 by iworkwhippets Link to post

paulus 26
its very simple, most on here are adults and as such are responsible for his or her own actions, the site states the law as it stands and the rules of the site, break either and get banned, it doesn`t matter if they rejoin within minutes as the same rules still apply under their new username ie break the rules again and get banned again. all this turn it into a vouched for only site and that is a complete waste, there will always be idiots and mentally challanged people on these sites aswell as the genuine new comer who just doesnt know the laws of the land, all the site can do is police and educate, as for antis, police, rspca ect do you not think they have people who could hack any security to get the information they were after. if you think anywhere in cyber land is safe you need to think again. 4 Link to post
