Thanks Millet,we had the greyhound bitch that was the black dogs grandmother,covered by a cattle working collie ,his dam was only pts a couple of weeks ago and i was hoping someone would want to use the dog as a stud dog so i could have a pup around from him ,TBH i wasn't planning any getting another lurcher for maybe another couple of years or so ,but saying that i never thought i would of got that bitch to take a dog but now that she has ,the timing might not be right but it has happened now and i'm looking forward to it

I would not worry about the timing and this season's hunting..you will hopefully have a new pup to worry about hunting wise for the next 8yr's or more..and the bitch can help bring the pup on..
