I have tried a to get my bitch covered by a dog a few times but each time she would not let a dog near her,she once broke 2 muzzels and nearly took the hand of my mate and the head off his dog,but i h

well lad if all they make are rabbit dogs ,they wont be anything like either parent ,and i wont be keeping one

Nice 1 for the GOOD comments, lads and lasses   but it is looking more certain now

if your desperate for pups why dont you do it artificially, simple enough to do mate

I'm not desperate mate and i was gona go down that root last year but then thought if it's not be it's not to be but now it has happened naturally (i hope)

if you don't mind me asking,

why did you decide to breed a bitch at the start of the hunting season?

any bitch i'd want to breed from, would be an animal i wouldn't want to go through 1/2 the season without.

Because i have tried to breed her before and she never took a dog,the dog is getting on and anything could happen him during this season and she is also getting on and i would not of taken the chance if she became any older,I also have 2 other lurchers to work and she will be back in the field come christmas, that will still give me a few mths work out of her this season

your right mate the dog might jack it in this season lol

Well if he jacks at 10 years old,it's not down to not wanting to do it it will be down to not been able ,but i doubt it,i reckon he still has a couple of seasons left in him and maybe a couple more after that ferreting

she was only pts a couple of weeks ago at 16,her body gave up ,but the vet said her heart was still strong

Well she was obviously a very well looked after, happy dog in her lifetime - other wise she wouldn't have made it to that age. Hat's off :victory: She is another cracking bitch (even with the grey's lol) :toast:

this was her the day before she was pts

awk, god love her. She looked to be a good worker

Bet it was hard for you,

ive been soo lucky not to lose any of my "working" dogs (touch wood). Cant imagine life without my dogs especially the two boy's, nearly lost Mo Chara 4 times to an illness he has, but luckily he pulled through - it was hard. I know the day will come for me where ill lose them - but ill just have to pick myself up and dust myself off and move on
