fox net advice

I am about to start a fox net using a 3inch mesh boards and probably 6 foot long??

 

But how many meshed wide should I do it?

nit 12 onto the ring then increase 1 mesh at a time up to 24 then decrease 1 mesh at a time finishing on 12 with the bottom ring
