Casso 1,261
What do you make of the Jones camp turning down a fight with Sonnen, i think it could have been the fight that shut Sonnen up for a while, whatever you think of Sonnen the man, he has a fighter's heart,

marshman 7,758
Might not be about easy money for him now. He might have bigger and better challenges to face.

UphillDoc 278
The light heavy weight Champ wont take a fight with a contender from a lower weight class, because its too short notice??? COWARD! He fuked all the up and coming fighters on the card as well...they needed the paycheck/exposure far more than Jones...PITIFUL! Take care.

hillbilly boy 109
Its a disgrace that they turned the fight down. You would have thought jones would have took the fight for the ufc considering they are also one of his main sponsers just shows what type of a man he really is
storm323 191
Is Jon jones your talking about ?he would be to much for sonnen I think I'd go as far as saying it would be a waste of time joneses next fight is Vitor Belford init I think jones will be to good for him also. moonlighter 1,164
Sonnen dosnt deserve a title shot. Since he has stopped using HRT he is average at best. And it wasn't even as if his last fight was close.
trappa 518
The blame lies with Greg jackson, JJ's trainer. He advised JJ not to fight. Great camp but Greg does nothing for the sport at all.
tilimangro 1,013
what has jones to gain from fighting sonnen? feck all if jackson told jones not to fight it makes him a greater trainer in my opinion its about your career ,not pleasing fat halfwits in tapout tshirts

trappa 518
If Jones was "all that" then he would have faced sonnen. Sonnen was coming up from middle to light-heavy so JJ has an advantage straight away fighting the naturally smaller man (and this is a jones who has said he will eventually go up to heavyweight). secondly JJ had around 90 days to prepare to get in the octagon, Sonnen was doing it with 8 days notice. Without mma jackson would be a nobody but he still does the sport no favours. Now 20 fighters go without a wage this month, all the other trainers are going without and the tens of thousands who have bought tickets and booked flights/trains/hotels are massively out of pocket. As for "its about your career"? There will be massive ramifications for GJ and JJ imo. The UFC are THE biggest name in mma on the globe and they have just stitched them up like kippers. Zuffa have just lost millions of dollars and they wont forget it in a hurry. Edited August 30, 2012 by trappa
