Coincidence? 2 plod in a panda.

On the advice of my FEO, when I needed to dispatch a caged fox, I called 101 and got a CAD number, so if any neighbours complained about a "man with a gun" in my garden, the old bill would have a record of it.

My dog was going bananas at about 4.30 the other morning, so I went down and there was a largish vixen in the cage trap.

I called 101 at 4.40, got a CAD number, then when the deed was done at about 4.50, I called and asked them to close the CAD down.

Neither the first person I spoke to or the second person seemed to have the slightest idea what I was on about, but at least I had covered myself.

I was wide awake by then, so jumped in the shower and got dressed. (No, I didn't get dressed in the shower.)

While the kettle was boiling, I thought I'd put the wheelie bin out for the dustman later that morning, and when i got to my front gate, there was a panda car sitting on the corner of my nearest side road and the 2 plod in it were really watching me and not trying to pretend they weren't.

I lit a fag and just watched them back, and after a couple of minutes, they drove off, past my house, still screwing at me.

Was this coincidence that they just happened to be there and weren't used to seeing people up and about so early, or was it something to do with my call to 101?

If it was due to "a firearms incident", surely 2 plod in a panda weren't the right people for the job?

 

Edited to say: The only reason I went to these extremes is I have neighbours who phone the old bill at the drop of a hat.
