skinner 348
when i had hounds upto 19 i use to feed dry food along with maze soaked in water over nite. but i also used to get waste food from pubs witch they were glad to get rid of. my mate also got old bread from bakers. if you ask about you will be surprised what you can get Quote Link to post
Mark Blight 11
we ask old people's home's they are grateful it goes to good use and the hounds eat well Quote Link to post
VALLEY HOUNDS 43
i get alot of fishop waste .can be a bit fatty but its free and after a good curry its easy to wash away lol, i use to have old peoples homes waste ,untill council stuck their noses in so they are now paying for it to go to landfill. flaked maize soaked over night and bit of waste works well for me keeps the fat content down 1 Quote Link to post

biscuit 2
i like a dry dog food with low protein around 22% and high fat 16 to 20%.the first ingredient shouldn't be corn or corn products.i ran my dogs 20 to 30 hrs a week and they kept good weight up and was in great shape. 1 Quote Link to post

Coyotehunter 689
Like Busciut says , higher fat content is just as, if not more important than protein, we feed a bag food that's 20% fat 26% protein and it stays in the hound, ( very little waste) if you feed cheap crap, with a high percentage of yellow corn( maize) the hounds just shit it out, been there got the t shirt , you're better off feeding less of a more expensive feed than feeding a load of cheap crap that the hounds just shit out 2 Quote Link to post
Foxtrot 24
We feed pub food waste and its the best stuff we have ever fed them with. Contains all sorts of goodness....vegetables & meat! Hounds are in top condition off it! Quote Link to post
Llion Edward Evans 15
We feed them pig lungs from the abattoir and cake waste from the local bakery. they seem to be doing great on it, been offered pub waste but atm our current food does them fine. CorkyJohn 808
Wish I had the land to hunt a few hounds, I have a supply of butchers waste that is mainly chicken carcasses, skin, lamb bones plus scraps. I could easy feed a pack Quote Link to post
