Dirtworm 18
Best game bred dogs come from the U.S. Period. As for pats, U.S. dogs are used for different quarry, not all but alot are used for above ground work. Yes APBT are descended from staffs. We just increased the weight sometimes and tested the hell out of them. Good dogs are where you find them. US or GB. Quote Link to post
Mosby 355
Trying to lay claim to credit for the apbt because their ancestors originated in europe is naive. Quality of type changes rapidly depending on who breeds it. American's have the right to claim those as their own. As far as earth dogs in America... The options are fewer over here. And being bred by different people they are going to be different than what they were originally. From what I have noticed there are a very few people over here that take breeding terriers seriously. Most just throw whatever good dogs are around together and there's little consistency in the dogs. The people who do take breeding seriously often focus heavily on pedigrees and dogs that are many generations back. I haven't owned dogs from those folks so I can't say whether pedigree breeding works. There are an ass load of nuttal bred dogs this side of the pond. People talk about nuttal as if it's the cat's meow but other than booth I don't know what other dogs they've got to choose from. So really, I don't think most Americans, including myself, know what is available from europe. 1 Quote Link to post
