when fishing, sometimes even with the best placed baits, a bite doesnt always occur "tug on the line" maybe you should have shot the cubs

 

I agree with that they might be cute but still vermin and need controlling not nice but someone obviously wants them gone

What type of land is it on? Is there a local syndicat shoot in the area? The farmer may have the vermin shooting rights but not the shooting rights of the land so one of the members who overlook the shoot may be taking it upon them selfs if they see a fox and no one controlling them. I dout it's poachers because most poachers are in it for the sport and that's not sport snaring its more likely someone from a shoot doing it. We have people who come on our shoot and takes care of our "problems"

Right firstly its a small petting farm, (ie) like a large inner city zoo, and 45 acres in size, but out in the sticks if you know what i meen. the owners have all the shooting rights, and i'm the only person with a permission to shoot rabbits, corvids, and vermin using an air rifle, the owners son and one other takes care of the foxes with shot guns.

 

Why there was a snare on the grounds no-one knows, but the police have been informed, and will watch the area. all the local farms have been asked about it, but at the moment no-one knows nothing.

 

As for shooting the cubs, sorry lads my ,22 air rifle is not right for the job, they were dispatched by shot gun this afternoon, And as for tackling them myself, its just not worth getting a criminal record over, especially as i'm aiming to get my FAC.

 

There is a local guy 82yrs old, old fred as he's known he reckons he's seen this before, but not for many years, he said years ago the romany gypsy's used to snare foxes, sell the skins and tails, and feed his dogs the meat, also hard to beleive, but who knows.

It,s no hard to believe not that long ago a good winter pelt was worth a bit I know for lads as had no work but they made more than most on the fox

we have poachers that drive over fields and crops in 4x4 esp after dark and police have been informed and said they will patrol the area but people that live nearby as never seen police patrolling the area even though they have reported them as well so hope your police force is better than ours lol..

The fox was strangled alright, so much so that the snare had cut through part of the neck,

also, there are no gamekeepers on site, nor is there anyone else with a permission to shoot, and on top of it all the neighboring farmer is now fuming because he has found snares on his land too, and has said no-one has the right to snare or shoot on his land, as its not a working farm but private land.

well now the justice system has them thats it sorted lol sometimes its more hassle than its worth prosecuting them as they can always return and cause damage which in the end starts costing landowners -i know its not the right thing to do by just letting them get away with it tho if you see what im getting at -billy
